Exciting ways to learn mathematics through exploration and discussion

Resources and support for teachers of Early Years through to Post 16. There is something for all teachers on the NRICH site.

If you are an Early Years practitioner, you will find activities, articles and useful documents and well as support for your own professional development.

If you are a Primary School practitioner, you will find four groups of resources which will help you to embed problem solving into your curriculum:

  • Curriculum Mapping Documents
  • Features
  • Collections
  • Resources to develop Mathematical Habits of Mind.

For Secondary School practitioners, you can browse for maths activities by topic, try short problem solving activities, play games and try out challenges and investigations. There is also a free online STEP Support Programme to help university applicants develop their advanced mathematical problem-solving skills and prepare for STEP mathematics exams. STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) is an additional mathematics examination, taken at the end of Year 13. STEP is used by the University of Cambridge, the University of Warwick and Imperial College London. Find out more about STEP.
